Cricket. That one word between these two nations people is enough to start a fight!! People literally go crazy when there is a cricket match. And they go crazy all over the world!! For instance, My college is in UAE, and majority of the students are Arabs, next come Pakistani’s and then the Indians. Like how the Arabs make us watch football, We make them watch and cheer for cricket!! 😉
Writing from an Indian’s point of view, Don’t you just love it when Yuvi,Dhoni, Kohli hit amazing mind blowing sixes, fours. When their partnerships reach a new level. When Bhuvnesh Kumar who is playing his third match today takes a wicket. When wickets fall one after the other. You feel so proud for your country. 😀
And Pakistani’s feel the same when Afridi, Akmal, Hafeez hit a 6, or when Gul takes an Indian wicket. The feeling in the atmosphere around u is different.
Few wear their respective country’s jerseys to college. Girls and guys paint their faces with Indian or Pakistani flag. No body cares about the lectures, everyone goes to the the college cafeteria and spends the whole day watching the match. But if people attend, they attend for attendence sake and are anyways listening to the match through headsets from their mobile phone radios. 😉 But most of the times the professors understand and finish off the class early. 😀
We make facebook status’s, twitter updates, tease each other when the other countries wicket goes, and cheer on with a lot of excitement when runs are made. 😀 Sometimes the social networks have even become war zones to fight when someone crosses the extent of teasing. Its seriously madness at times.
My uncle who is a die hard cricket fan, due to some work if he goes out during the game , he makes his daughter miss call him each time a wicket falls. That is the extent of craziness 😉
I usually don’t watch cricket. But when when it comes to IndVSPak matches, i make an effort and watch the whole match. These matches are epic! When i watch IndVsPak, i feel the passion for my country, no matter who loses or who wins, the excitement in my blood, the fun for cheering for ur own country, the adrenaline rush u feel, and the racing heartbeat in the final few overs of the game. I love every minute of the it.
And the best part about these matches are the SaniaMirza-ShoaibMalik jokes. Even though they are super lame. They make the game much more awesome funnier. 😛
